I do agree though, if you're just using it for source then all you need is a cheap headset (iirc I mentioned the HD205s which are usually around $25) and a $20 MCoy.

I am really adamant on PC151's haha. (for these nerds thinking headsets are going to give them that DISTINCT edge). They are generally fine for audio. (by these nerds standards rap/rock music will be awesome) They're definitely bass heavy as most lower end headphones are because people think that this is what makes good headphones separate from bad ones.
Honestly, unless you listen to classical music in FLAC, or ALAC with a $200+ amplifier, then it is genuinely hard to distinguish the difference and only really nitpicky people (i,e, audiophiles, producers, mixers) care about the quality of their music enough to notice a difference between the difference between 500 dollar Sennheisers and 200 dollar Sennheisers. The difference is most definitely there, but most 'gamers' do not care about music enough to notice it. This is why you see negative reviews on the headphones a lot saying they are lackluster etc.
So I will always recommend proper headphones at the range of 50 dollars of some quality brand like Sennheiser. (Audio Technica are actually made from the UK's 'wal-mart' and are known to be cheap in construction but decent in quality). Everyone I know from the U.K. tries to get me off the concept of them being high quality headphones (which they successfully did as you noticed). Although, I would recommend them to a CS:S player because like I said, they do not need high quality headphones (i.e. expensive ones).
