nah, really trust me (im dazed) on this one, 1366 is overpriced (a 'good' mainboard is at least $200 when you got similar boards for 1156 on the $120/140 price range), triple channel is not even a good performance improvement (even the improvement from single to dual channel was ridiculous, it just became a standard because of the memory amount used nowadays) and the 1156 will last for a while since intel hasn't decided much about their 1155 platform, but the 1366 is definately going to be left for the socket 2011 as soon as it comes out
if you wanna go only with intel quads, go for the i5 760 or the i7 870 depending on your available funds they're easily overclockable with a decent cooler and you'll have great performance for a decent price for the graphics card if you wanna keep it with nvidia yeah a gtx 460 1gb is really the new piece of gold, easily overclockable, decent power consumption and good temperatures/noise if you wanna go a little bit higher the gtx 470 price dropped under the $300 range i think (it did in europe i mean) and it will be a good performance improvement, worth the money and here again that card is easily overclockable but the fact it's the gf100 gpu will make you forget about the gtx 460's gf104 revision: since the gtx 470 is the first generation the noise, temperatures and power consumption are alot higher still a good card with good performances, but alot more negative feedback on those points |

Ok well let's say I want to spend +/- $1500 w/out the monitor ...
Main Criteria: - SSD For a Boot Drive - No ATI Cards - Mid Tower Case - Known/ Quality Components. (No random brands) Just looking for the best performance in the price range. I don't want to skimp out on anything.

prices from newegg (don't know much about computer hardware retailers in na, so can't say, but heard ncix.com is also a good one):
- cpu: intel core i7 870 = $290 - cpu cooling: corsair h50 = $75 - mainboard: gigabyte ga-p55a-ud3 (sata 3.0, usb 3.0) = $140 - memory: corsair dominator 2x2gb pc12800 c8 = $135 - graphics card: msi n460gtx cyclone oc 1gb = $235 - hdd: western digital caviar black 1tb 64mb/sata 3.0 = $95 - ssd: crucial realssd c300 64gb sata 3.0 = $145 - psu: corsair 750hx 750w (80+ silver - in fact gold -, modular) = $150 - case: cooler master storm sniper = $130 - dvd reader/burner: samsung sh-2253l lightscribe = $23 - thermal paste: arctic silver 5 = $10 total: $1427 after mail in rebates: $1377 now if you want to, add a fan controller, change the case, change the fans, add a 2nd fan on the h50 for push&pull cooling configuration, change the graphics card to a gtx 470 maybe you can find better prices, but here you go, this is some great rig, really powerful and futureproof overall everything is great there, only premium hardware
