That review is old, but the MX-518 does well in that article. You'll probably need to limit the choices in mouse surface for the DeathAdder, but the 518 will work well on more surfaces.
There was some reference in the article to how laser mice did versus older optical mice. |

I may go with the mx518. I was concerned because I knew the old one had problems where it would seem to drop from the usb suddenly, which is a problem I had with a previous Logitech mouse. I don't believe they have that problem with the new ones though.
I have a qck+, and I don't believe the 1800 deathadders had a problem tracking on them, I may be wrong though. Last edited by Dr. Godzilla?!; 08-02-2010 at 11:02 AM. |

Maybe this just a random rumor stuck in my head but somewhere i remember reading that optical mice tracked better on the qck, if its true just something to keep in mind |

The razer deathadder will do fine on the qck+ and so will the mx518 (the best mat for it tbh) As a owner of the deathadder i can say, that it is SUPER comfortable, the shape is made for ONLY the right hand and has a very good optical sensor, remember to take the old version since i heard some bad stuff about the new one. The only bad thing about it is the skates witch wear off in time (6 months or so) and then you gotta buy new skates (Hyperglidez) witch are just about 6-10e, but either one you take is a win/win, and btw if you take the mx518 you better overlock the mouse @ 500hz = even better trackin/smoother. MX518 all day. I got mine for cheap in Target a few years ago, for around $30, and it still works great. I've used it on a Mantis pad, QcK+, pieces of paper, whatever. I'd vote it over other mice like the Xai or Lachesis, which I've tried and didn't like as much.
