Question upgrade to intel or just stay with amd

So I currently have a amd athlon ii x4 2.6ghz and an msi 790fx-gd70 mobo with a xfx 4870 1gb video card and I was thinking about upgrading my cpu to a phenom ii but I have enought cash to upgrade to an intel i5 750 quad core at 2.66ghz and a evga p55-LE mobo so the problem I have is to pick, now I know I've looked at benchmarks and the intel beats the phenom in almost all the catigories but is it worth the money where as I can get a top of the line phenom for 200 for an x6 for 200 or should I give up on amd and go for intel and I have 4gb of ddr3 ram at 2000mhz standard so I was wondering what I should do.

I have the new amd Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT55TFBGRBOX
1055tt

I have it overclocked to 3.5 and when it goes into turbo mode it runs at around 5.1.

it really just depends what your going to do with your computer tbh, if the computer you have now runs everything fine that you do, then there is no point of really upgrading yet. maybe just wait till the next series of processors/mother boards come out and upgrade then... or spend your money on crack and hookers.

Oh yeah i forgot to add, the X6 really shines when overlclocking some guys got it up to 6ghz! i bet not on air tho. I heard also that the i5 has motherboard compatability? (dont know how to write that shit) issues. Ima change from my original suggestion 2 the amd. GL.

i7-930 OC'd to 3.8ghz could goto 4ghz if I had a slightly better PSU but get all sorts of weird anomalies in Source when I OC that high.

any fast dual core is fine for gaming

no point of getting quads unless your video editing / photoshop a lot or w/e 3D modeling ect.
